Yr 8 Take Education Outdoors
Wednesday, June 07, 2006

On Tuesday 7th June, Ms.Broad & Mr.Gregory from the CLC took nineteen, year eight students to Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centrefor a funfilled exciting experience.

The session was led by two instructors, both called Mark.
Students and staffwere shown how to use the safety harnesses and ropes, which were all part of their amazing "tree-Rope" system.

They were then taken to what can only be described as a "treetop assault course", where they had to overcome their most basic fears and navigate the challenging treetop obstacles.

After lunch, they donned their bouyancy aids and helmets and headed down to the reservoir for some canoe fun.

After learning the basic paddling skills, we headed out onto the reservoir to engage in a competitive series of games and races. The competition was hot, as several prizes were up for grabs.

Pupils and Staff headed home exhausted. We would like to offer our thanks to the Staff at Stanley Head for giving them all such a brilliant, exciting and fun-filled day.
