In December 2007 STARS won The Young Peoples Community Award.
This category in the Stoke on Trent Citizens of the Year Awards recognises young individuals who have been working closely with people from all walks of life and culture to help build bridges and to achieve a just society.

In December Mrs Cartwright too the Longton Buddies over to the CLC to Participate in the YVPP project.
There they met up with other students from Wolstanton High to produce informative booklets about some of the issues that face teenagers in school.
